Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kings County District Attorney's Office.
Paralegal
I met with some KCDA staff members first, and then I interviewed with the director. They made a verbal offer at the end of the last interview, which I accepted. The whole thing took about a month, which was pretty fast for a city agency.
- What makes you want to work in this role?
Legal Intern
The interview was about 10 minutes long, which was pretty short and not too hard. We talked about why I wanted to be a prosecutor and what made me decide on law school. Overall, it was a good experience.
- What sparked your interest in prosecution?
- What made you want to become a prosecutor?
Paralegal
Had a screening interview first, then a panel interview with people from different departments, and finally a 1:1 with the chief of staff. It wasn't the most organized process, I felt. You don't actually get to meet the people you'd be working with directly, which makes it hard to get a real feel for the job. They asked standard situational questions, and also asked about my experience and why I'm interested in this specific role.
- How has your background prepared you for this role?
- Can you describe a time you had a conflict with a colleague and how you resolved it?
