& Process

I went through the interview process via my university recruiting program. I spoke with an administrator who asked me a lot of trivia questions about Brooklyn and the district attorney. She didn't ask me about my qualifications or interests.

The interview was pretty relaxed. We talked about me, my hometown, and school, like the classes I was taking. We also discussed law school and what it's like being a lawyer. It felt more like a chat than a formal interview.

Had a screening interview first, then a panel interview with people from different departments, and finally a 1:1 with the chief of staff. It wasn't the most organized process, I felt. You don't actually get to meet the people you'd be working with directly, which makes it hard to get a real feel for the job. They asked standard situational questions, and also asked about my experience and why I'm interested in this specific role.

I applied online and it took about a month and a half from submission to receiving an offer. Typically involves four rounds of interviews: an initial phone screen, a panel interview with three individuals, an interview with a higher-up from the executive office, and a final interview with the District Attorney. But it's sometimes condensed into three rounds. I went through only three rounds: the phone screen, the panel interview, and the executive office interview.
