First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at King & Spalding.
Associate
I applied for a junior associate position right after finishing law school. I had a video call, which was during Covid. I talked to one of the partners in the practice area I was interested in. They asked me some typical interview questions, like about why I chose certain classes or extracurriculars, why I wanted to work in that specific practice area, and my reasons for going to law school.
- Can you elaborate on your academic performance and grades?
- What specifically about this practice area interests you?
Associate
I got this job through my law school. It was a 20-minute video call with a senior associate. The associate was nice and wanted to learn more about me, my interest in the firm, and why I applied, instead of asking tough questions.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
Summer Associate
I had four 30-minute interview slots over zoom, with each one featuring a different attorney. I stayed in the same zoom room while the interviewers swapped in and out based on their availability.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What makes you want to work in Atlanta?
- Are you applying to positions in other locations as well?
