Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was thorough and involved five rounds over approximately two months. I spoke with Talent Acquisition, the Manager of Paralegal Services, several Project Assistants and a Paralegal, as well as multiple senior associates and partners. Everyone was professional and welcoming, and I appreciated their time. However, after the final round and sending multiple follow-up emails, I didn't hear back regarding a decision. The lack of closure after an extensive, multi-stage process was disappointing. Candidates put a lot of time and effort into interviews, and timely communication, even a brief update, would have been appreciated.

I applied for a junior associate position right after finishing law school. I had a video call, which was during Covid. I talked to one of the partners in the practice area I was interested in. They asked me some typical interview questions, like about why I chose certain classes or extracurriculars, why I wanted to work in that specific practice area, and my reasons for going to law school.

I interviewed for the recruiting coordinator position with King & Spalding. All interviews were virtual; understandable due to the pandemic. It started with a phone screening, and then I met with three different people on webex. I thought things were going well but after a week went by since my last interview, and I hadn’t heard anything, I followed up with the recruiter that I had been working with. No response. Another week went by, so I followed up again. No response again. I basically got ghosted. Word of advice: even if someone isn’t getting an offer, have enough decency to let them know!

First, I had a chat with the hiring managers for about 30 minutes. It was a really nice conversation where they mostly asked about me and my reasons for wanting the job and to join the company. Then, I met with my future supervisors for a super chill, informational interview. Honestly, it felt more like a chance for me to find out more about the day-to-day stuff in the role. The last and final round was with the attorneys and partners I'd be working with. They were all really friendly and happy to answer any questions I had.
