First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kinectrics.
Engineering Co-Op
It was a virtual interview, about an hour long. They didn't ask any technical questions, mainly focusing on how I handle different situations and discussing my strengths and weaknesses. The interviewers were really nice and seemed passionate about their work.
- Could you mention any courses you've completed that you feel are relevant for this position?
Engineer
I applied and went through interviews with two managers. It seems like this company isn't really hiring much, more like they're just looking for people. They post jobs but don't actually hire unless you have a PhD and 10-15 years of experience. After the interview, don't expect any response or even a rejection. I heard from an old HR friend that they keep posting the same job over and over. They really waste your time and energy, and didn't even bother with me. This company has bad hiring practices, like a blood sucker. The managers were clueless and unprofessional during the interview.
- What is your five year plan?
- How do you handle conflict with employees?
- How do you handle conflict with your boss?
Engineer
Applied for an engineering position and interviewed with two hiring managers and HR. They asked standard HR and some technical questions. The company seems to not hire, especially if you have a strong foreign accent and they keep advertising the job. Rejected candidates won't hear back from HR. The company's hiring practices are discriminatory, hiring white individuals with little experience and rejecting people of color with higher qualifications. The majority of managers are white and they hire only white females, despite claiming diversity. The only requirement is being white.
- Can you tell me about yourself and how you manage deadlines and your pay rate expectations?
