First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kinectrics.
Analyst
Went to the New Grad selection day, had to take a day off work for it and it took up most of the day. They said I'd hear back about the final decision in 1-2 weeks maximum. It's been over a month and a half and I'm still waiting to hear back, lol. For real though, it's rude to be ghosted after committing so much time to an event like that. People's time is valuable!
- Technical questions
- behavioural questions
Intern
The interview process had 3 parts. First was a phone interview with HR to get to know me and my background. The second interview was virtual with HR. They asked about workplace management, responsibilities, and deadlines and questions accordingly. The third interview was with a panel of supervisors and managers, each asking technical questions regarding the project, which I answered with relevant expertise.
- Can you read this diagram and explain it?
Structural Engineer
This interview experience was quite awkward, and I've been in many interviews. The engineers seemed uncomfortable with the interviewing process. However, they compensated for their lack of interpersonal skills with strong technical knowledge. Based on our conversation, it's clear that the supervisors and management for the Civil/Structural team are technically very proficient.
- What prompted your departure from previous positions?
Engineer
Applied for an engineering position and interviewed with two hiring managers and HR. They asked standard HR and some technical questions. The company seems to not hire, especially if you have a strong foreign accent and they keep advertising the job. Rejected candidates won't hear back from HR. The company's hiring practices are discriminatory, hiring white individuals with little experience and rejecting people of color with higher qualifications. The majority of managers are white and they hire only white females, despite claiming diversity. The only requirement is being white.
- Can you tell me about yourself and how you manage deadlines and your pay rate expectations?
