First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kiewit Corporation.
Field Engineer
First, there was a quick HR phone call for screening. It was super easy, and the person was really nice. No technical stuff, just basic questions about safety culture and what I want to do in my career. Then, I had a Teams meeting with an engineer. They told me a lot about the job and the company. It was a super chill interview, more of a chat where I got to know the company and the interviewer better. I also got to share about my past work and how I feel about construction.
- Can you tell me about your current career goals?
- Are you interested in construction?
Field Engineer
It moved pretty fast—they asked stuff about my experiences, resume, and what I wanna do career-wise. I had a quick call with a recruiter, then a Teams meeting with a Project Engineer, followed by another Teams meeting with a Project Manager, and finished with an in-person interview with a Construction Manager.
- Could you share an example of a challenging situation you've faced?
- Tell me about a time you worked with someone you found difficult.
- What do you consider to be three key leadership qualities?
Field Engineer
This was the most unprofessional interview process I've ever experienced. There were four rounds of interviews, and then I was ghosted for a whole month. When they finally contacted me, they said they were still making decisions, which felt like they were leading me on. Ultimately, I received a call informing me that there were no available positions.
- Can you describe your previous role?
