Consultant
I applied for a Consultant II role while finishing my MBA. About two weeks after applying, I got a confusing pair of emails: one saying I wasn't a fit, and another inviting me to an interview, just minutes apart. After clearing things up via email, I had a good first interview with a consultant where we discussed behavioral fit and did a case study. A week or two later, I was invited for a second round of four back-to-back interviews on one day. They only sent calendar invites for two of them and promised to send the others. A week or two passed as I prepped, and then, three days before the interviews, the whole event was canceled without any notice. I emailed to follow up, expecting updated invites, but they responded saying they had met their hiring needs and were stopping the process. The HR/recruiting process felt disorganized and was a waste of my time. I did enjoy the interview with the consultant, who was approachable and collaborative. A minor point was the email sender name mismatch in HR communications, which added to the confusion. I'd suggest a more professional recruiting workflow.

Senior Consultant
I had an HR call, followed by two rounds involving case studies. Overall, the people were nice and the recruiter was really helpful. Some of the communication could have been clearer, though. The difficulty of the case studies can depend on whether you have experience in those specific areas or consulting in general.
- Could you describe a model that would yield a particular result?
Consultant
So far I've only gone through the initial HR screening, and honestly, the organization and efficiency from their end has been really poor. They first emailed asking for my availability for the next week. After waiting over a week past my reply, I sent a reminder only to get an auto-response that HR was on PTO. Once they were back, we finally scheduled a call. However, the first time they completely forgot about it, so I had to reach out again to reschedule. The second attempt at the call actually happened. It was super short, only 8 minutes, and mostly just fit/yes-or-no type questions. HR then asked me to send my availability again for the next stage. It's now been three weeks since I sent that availability after the screening call, and of course, no response. I sent another reminder last week and found out HR was on PTO again. I waited for them to return this week, hoping for a reply... but it's been completely silent. This whole process is just baffling.
