First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Keyrus.
Consultant
Initial HR call, followed by 3 interviews (2 with managers, 1 with an associate partner) and a free presentation. Usually an informal chat with the teams if time permits. Interviews are about 1 hour long, focusing on personality and motivation.
- What is your motivation for transitioning from auditing to consulting?
Consultant
This interview was a joke. I prepared like crazy for their Anaplan case study, but it turned out to be a waste of time. They stated their expectations, then expected the complete opposite. It felt like they were playing mind games. Plus, hearing about the high turnover and miserable employees confirmed this place is a disaster. To top it off, their compensation offers are laughable. Seriously, don't waste your time with these people.
- In what ways could Anaplan be applied to our business?
Senior Consultant
I applied online and heard back about a month later. The first 3 interviews were back-to-back, though one had to be rescheduled because the interviewer didn't show up. Then there was a hiring freeze. After about 2 months with no word, a recruiter contacted me saying I was done with interviews and just waiting for an offer or rejection. But then I had to interview with a VP. This VP interview was really awkward and rude, especially after I thought I was done. He asked me to introduce myself and talk about my work, and when I did, he just stared and told me to take a breath. When I asked what he was looking for, he said 'someone who can come in and be productive right away,' which contrasted with the earlier managers talking about culture and teamwork. This made me realize their real priorities. The first few interviews with consultants, managers, and directors seemed promising, and I thought it was a good fit. But the VP interview totally killed my enthusiasm for Keyrus. Because of this interview with a senior leader who seemed bored and only focused on money, I realized the truth and withdrew my application. Other concerning things were that nobody knew about the bonus structure, they couldn't guarantee I'd work with Microsoft tech even though it was a Power BI Sr. Consultant role (seemed like a bait and switch), multiple meetings were missed or forgotten, and they claimed they don't use utilization targets or performance metrics.
- Tell me about your favorite DAX expression.
- Regarding this Power BI senior consultant position, how much business do you do with Microsoft technologies, and will I be working mainly in that area?
