First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Keyence.
Technical Marketing Engineer
I applied to Keyence in late November of 2020. Since I had already taken a Wiesen assessment with Keyence, I didn't have to take another one. Within a few days, I got an email with instructions for a virtual interview. I had to record myself answering questions. I think there were 5 questions in total. I had 30 seconds to prepare for each answer and 3 minutes to answer each question.
- Tell me about a time you had a conflict with a coworker and how you resolved it.
Digital Marketing Manager
It was a long process with many challenges. A headhunter reached out to me for this position, and I started a lengthy sequence of personality tests and unusual one-way video interviews. After that, there were more formal in-person interviews. The whole thing took almost 3 months because they move really slowly.
- Can you tell me about your management style and how your skills will help you succeed here?
Technical Marketing Engineer
After not getting a sales role I applied for before, I was contacted about a month later for a Technical Marketing Engineer position. The interview process seemed the same. I had to pass these in order: 1.) A technical aptitude test with 55 basic physics/engineering questions in 25 min. 2.) A phone screen that was quick, easy, and straightforward. 3.) A video interview where you record answers to given questions in a set time. 4.) A personality test (if you pass this, they review your video interview). 5.) An in-person interview that included a sales presentation on one of their products. A sales role also requires a role-play to sell a pen. Overall, the process felt really thorough. I'd suggest putting the personality test before the video interview since it's a major cutoff point. Using a staffing agency was helpful for guidance and preparation.
- Regarding the product you presented, how would a customer justify investing a significant amount of money in it?
