Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KeyBank.
Investment Banking Analyst
I interviewed first with an analyst, and then about a week later, I interviewed with an associate and an MD. The entire interview process seemed to move quickly and not be very structured since they needed to hire someone to join immediately.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What interests you about Key?
- What interests you about this specific group?
Investment Banking Analyst
The interview process had only 2 rounds. The first round was with a junior analyst who asked mostly technical questions relevant to the tech office. About two weeks later, there was a super day that lasted around 2.5 hours. It included one very intense technical interview, two interviews that were mainly behavioral and aimed at getting to know me, and one interview that was a mix of both behavioral and technical. The process was not too difficult.
- Can you list the three main methods for valuation?
Investment Banking Analyst
Applied online and got a first round interview. It was mostly behavioral questions like 'Why Key?', 'Why IBD?', and 'Why finance?'. After that, I was invited to a superday. I met with 3 people, each for 30 minutes. The first interview involved a stock pitch, the second was mainly behavioral, and the third was technical with some brain teasers. Everyone I met, from the recruiter to the employees, was really nice and welcoming. It was a great experience, especially considering how stressful IBD interviews can be.
- Tell me why you are interested in Key.
- What's been in the news about Key lately?
- Why Investment Banking?
