Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ketchum.
Account Executive
Great interview, but it wasn't the right timing. It was a very casual chat with the HR manager, who mentioned they were waiting to confirm the interview schedule. We discussed my experience, the different departments, and some of the company's current initiatives.
- Can you describe your background?
Account Executive
I applied online, then had a phone interview. A few days later, I went in for an in-person interview and a skills test. I was offered the job a few days after that and accepted. The interviewers were nice. The questions were of average difficulty, mostly standard questions you can prepare for. The skills test involved writing a press release and answering some current events questions, mainly to see if I understood what's going on in the world. They mentioned it's a place where they have fun and work hard, but it felt like mostly just working a lot.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Can you describe a difficult situation you experienced with a client, colleague, or manager?
- Could you write a press release?
Account Executive
So, a recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn, and we did a few phone chats. Then I met the team in person. It took ages to hear back – like months! They eventually told me they never filled the role, and then HR circled back about the same job. So I met more team members again, talked about account teams, did a writing test, and got an offer pretty quickly after that.
- Can you demonstrate your passion for this industry?
- Do you have any examples of bringing fresh thinking to your work?
- Tell me about a time you went above and beyond to ensure smart work, not just task completion.
