Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Keppel Offshore & Marine.
Service Engineer
Had a terrible conversation with HR. They offered an 8 dollar standard rate for overtime beyond 1 hour. No weekend or public holiday pay, and you have to work according to ship docking. Medical benefits is only through the yard doctor. No 13th-month bonus. HR was very rude when I said I didn't want the job. When asked why I would like to reject, I said due to medical benefits. Her reply was if your current medical benefits is so great, why did you apply to Keppel. I would recommend not working here just based on HR's attitude.
- Were you asked technical questions about servicing ship monitoring systems?
Engineer
The interview process was smooth and hassle-free. They focused on technical competency with key questions. I went through 2 interviews, and each one had technical questions related to the core work scope. Be ready to impress them with your capability, your ability to work on tight timelines, and your communication skills with diverse groups of stakeholders.
- Can you share your past experience in the technical field?
Engineer
I first met with some recruiters at my university's career fair. They were super friendly, and a lot of them were actually alums from my school. After that, I had two rounds of interviews. The first round had an HR person and two engineers, and the second round had a senior section manager and one engineer. It was pretty straightforward, but I had to think about some questions regarding my long-term career plans at the company.
- If offered this role, what would be your intended tenure with our company?
