Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kellen Company.
Account Executive
So there were two interviews total. First was with the recruiter, and the second one was with the hiring manager and the team. Both were on Teams and lasted about half an hour. It was a good experience because everyone was pretty friendly.
- Can you walk me through a campaign you managed from the beginning to the end?
- How do you handle managing multiple projects at once?
- What's your approach to managing social media and its associated metrics?
Account Executive
Got a call a few days after applying. Then had a phone screen, followed by an interview with the department director. The final interview was with both the department director and VP. The interview process was fantastic and made me want the job even more. Each interview felt like a natural conversation. The whole thing, from the first call to the offer, took about two weeks. Even though the job posting's max pay was $20k less than my current salary, they offered me $10k above that maximum, which really showed me they valued my experience.
- Can you describe your background and explain how it aligns with the requirements of this role?
- What is your motivation for wanting to join Kellen?
- What draws you to working with associations?
Account Executive
So I interviewed for a different, more entry-level job back in Oct 2017. The HR lady and I chatted for an hour. She thought I might be overqualified but mentioned some openings in the DC office and thought she could find a mid-level role for me there. Said she'd call me back the next week. Never heard from her, so I spent six weeks trying to reach out. Then, in April 2018, I had two one-hour phone interviews for this Account Executive role. The first was with that same HR woman, the second with someone in the ATL office. Both went over my resume and we talked a lot about my experience. After the second one, they asked about my availability for an in-person interview in DC. I responded quickly, but a few days later got a standard email saying they were going with other candidates. Two interviews and then that? I emailed the HR lady and the next day got the same generic response again. Such a waste of my time. The first HR lady did mention a lot of people leaving the DC office... makes you wonder why. Total waste of time.
- Can you share an instance where you utilized resources and critical thinking to overcome a challenge?
