First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kellanova.
Sales
The interview had three steps. First, I spoke with HR about basic concepts. Then, I met with sales directors for a discussion on local market specifics and an Excel skills test. Lastly, I had a short conversation with the CEO to align our views.
- What's your current take on the market?
Sales Representative
I applied online and then had a phone interview with the recruiter. After that, I had a panel interview over Teams with the hiring manager and another manager. The interviews went well and everyone was friendly. They said I'd hear back around January because of the holidays. After that, it was radio silence. I turned down other offers for this job. My emails and calls to the recruiter and hiring manager weren't returned. Almost two months later, my application status changed to 'unsuccessful.' It was a disappointing and unprofessional process. Even a short email would have been helpful.
- Can you discuss your previous employment history?
- Describe your proficiency in sales.
- Can you share an example of how you handled a specific situation?
Sales Representative
So, applying online with basic questions and docs was the first step. Then, about a week later, a phone interview happened. It was pretty chill, the manager asked about my work history and knowledge of the role and company. I heard back the next Monday to schedule a face-to-face, and also got an email asking me to prep a presentation on in-store activities. The face-to-face was at this fancy country club with two national-level colleagues. They were really professional and asked questions about Kelloggs' 'K Power to Grow' competencies. After my presentation, I answered questions about it. The whole thing felt right for the job and was efficient. They said I'd get feedback by the end of that week, but I didn't hear anything by the following Monday. I reached out to one of them but got ignored. Tried calling the next day, and within two minutes of leaving a message, I got a generic rejection email from a do-not-reply address. Pretty disrespectful for a big company, even though the process itself was nice up to that point.
- Can you share an instance where you collaborated effectively with others?
- Describe a situation where you achieved significant results.
- What would you change about your presentation if you had to do it over?
