Sales Manager
I got an email from the recruiter and set up a phone call. The call was from the US, so watch out if you don't have an international phone plan. It was about 30 minutes, and we talked about my resume, the job, and what salary I was looking for. The recruiter was super nice and answered most of my questions.
- Can you introduce yourself, and explain your interest in this specific position and Kellogg?
Sales Manager
I was first contacted by a recruiter for a phone screen, then had a second phone screen with the hiring manager. After about a week, I was invited to a panel interview at their Regional Office. They covered my travel and hotel expenses. I had to prepare a 15-20 minute "live resume" powerpoint presentation. After my presentation, the panel (Hiring Manager, HR Manager, Area GM, Marketing Manager) interviewed me with purely behavioral questions. Each person asked 5 questions, and the interview lasted over an hour. They were very stoic and wouldn't elaborate on questions. I got to ask questions afterward, but the answers were generic. A week later, I was told the position was no longer available, and my follow-up calls were ignored. I later learned an internal candidate got the job, despite them saying they wanted leadership and experience.
- Can you share an instance where you had to share best practices or lessons learned with someone to help them achieve a goal? Please outline the situation, how you shared this info, your approach, the outcome, and your learnings.
- Tell me about a time when you had to meet an unexpected and urgent deliverable while managing your existing workload. How did you prioritize, what challenges did you encounter, how did you overcome them, and what was the final outcome?
Account Sales Manager
The interview process involved 2 phone interviews and then 1 personal interview. It was a complete waste of time because they apparently only hire from within the company. I was interviewed for the same position twice in the same month because the first person they promoted from within quit after a week. I was foolish enough to go through it all a second time, with the district manager telling me I was "second place" on the first interview but that person didn't work out. I put myself and my family out to interview again, only to be told again that they hired from within. Don't waste your time or gas money.
- Would you be willing to take a stocking job for $15 an hour?
