Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kellanova.
Marketing
I had 2 interviews. In the first, we talked a lot about the job itself, what they expect, and how it's set up. The second interview was more about my past jobs and what I've done that fits this role, and I asked my questions.
- Can you tell me about your relevant experience?
Marketing
First, I had phone screens with the recruiter, then several video interviews with marketing leaders. There were some tech issues during these, but I still moved on to an in-person interview with a panel. It was very formal, with three people interviewing me for an hour.
- What are your reasons for wanting to join Kellanova?
Marketing
It was a really old-school interview process. I went through 3 rounds. First, I had two phone interviews, one with a recruiter and then another with the hiring manager. After that, I moved on to a panel interview where three people were reading from a script of questions. It felt super awkward because nobody knew whose turn it was to ask a question, and we ended up running out of time. The interview wasn't conversational at all, and I didn't get a chance to ask any questions. It's 2021, and candidates are interviewing the company too, you know? I was also told that I'd have to be in the office every single day, with no hybrid option. They didn't explain why being in the office daily was necessary. Then, I heard nothing back, even after following up twice, which is really unprofessional and rude.
- Can you share some of your general background?
- Could you provide an example of a difficulty you encountered and how you handled it?
- What do you consider to be your key strengths and areas for improvement?
