The hiring manager contacted me after I applied, and we had a first phone interview. The process was really slow, with no response until I followed up. Then there was another interview with HR, followed by a final interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager was really nice and professional. After a month of chasing HR, they told me there would be no hiring for that location, even though it was advertised and confirmed during the interviews!

It started with a phone screen, and then I had a 90-minute interview that was split into two parts. First, I talked with two specialists for 45 minutes, and then for another 45 minutes, I met with two managers. They were pretty serious and didn't really give away how they felt about my answers. It was really important for them that we stayed on time. They said they'd let me know within a week. After 8 days, I reached out to the recruiter who did the phone screen, but I never heard back, which felt pretty unprofessional after all that.

I applied in June and heard back from the talent acquisition manager a couple of weeks later to set up a phone interview for early July. We scheduled for Monday at 11:00 am CST. I was waiting for the call at 11:15 am and decided to call him to remind him about the interview, and he acted annoyed, saying the interview was at 12:00 pm (I have the invite to prove otherwise). He then acted like I was inconveniencing him by taking the call now. He was rude and didn't ask relevant questions for an instructional designer but did say he'd pass my info to the L&D team. After a couple of weeks, I emailed him about meeting the team, but he didn't reply. I emailed again two weeks later, and still no response. I did a lot of research for this interview, only to deal with a recruiter with a bad attitude who blamed me for his scheduling and timing issues. We were in the same time zone and close in proximity.

The first interview was mostly about getting to know you as a person, like what kind of person you are and how good your time management skills are. The second interview focused on your resume, going over projects you've done and any difficulties you ran into. We also talked about case studies and how you'd solve problems for our company, plus some easy tech questions.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Do you like to finish one project before starting another, or do you prefer working on multiple projects at once, focusing mainly on one but also assisting with others?
