Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KBRA.
Analyst
The interview process involved four rounds. It started with a video interview, followed by a Zoom interview, then an in-person interview, and finally a Zoom interview with a senior director. After these rounds, I was asked for some basic background information. It took several weeks to get a decision, which was disappointing. The people I met were all very pleasant, though.
- Can you define securitization?
- Describe your proficiency with Excel.
- Could you share some behavioral insights based on your resume?
Summer Analyst
I applied online, the deadline was Jan 31. I heard back a bit before then and gave them my availability for an interview. The scheduling process wasn't very organized. I then had an initial video interview with someone from KBRA, but I didn't get past that. The interview felt really short, like 5-10 minutes, so I'm not sure if they took me seriously.
- How did you find out about KBRA, and what makes you want to work here?
- Can you tell me why you're interested in this specific team?
- How would you describe your Excel skills?
Analyst
I went through three rounds of interviews for the RMBS team, as they're looking for someone with tech and quantitative skills urgently. The first round involved tech questions covering Python, SQL, and Excel, though I skipped the VBA part. The subsequent two rounds were with senior directors and included financial questions or questions about my background, which seemed to vary depending on the interviewer.
- What's your take on the current economic situation?
- Could you elaborate on what you did in your last job?
