First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at KBR.
Process Engineer
First, there was a phone call with HR to talk about motivations, reasons for applying to this role, and your potential contributions. Then, the assessment centre involved two one-on-one interviews, a group problem-solving session, and a presentation on a topic you're passionate about.
- In one word, what is your greatest strength?
- In one word, what is your greatest weakness?
Process Engineer
The interview process was quick, conducted by a principal engineer. They were very nice, asking basic and a few pre-interview questions, and I received an offer the very next day.
- They asked questions regarding piping.
- They asked questions regarding pump hydraulics.
- They asked questions regarding control wall hydraulics.
Process Engineer
The interview process was an assessment centre which included a spatial awareness test from SHL done before the day. Then there was an intro to KBR from managers and engineers. We then had to give presentations about our greatest achievement, which we had to prepare beforehand. After that was a group activity about increasing the sustainability of the KBR office. Then there was a technical interview where they just asked general questions about my CV, nothing specific. Following that was an HR interview with typical questions about my motivations and reasons for applying. There were also numerical and literacy tests from SHL and a handwritten paragraph on why I want to work for KBR. Overall it was a decent assessment centre with fun and interesting tasks. However, the person who did my HR interview spoke very quietly. Some of the staff seemed a bit cold, and one assessor was overly critical during a presentation. Also, if you pay for travel to the office, don't expect to get reimbursed quickly, as I'm still waiting for mine from February 2020 and have had no response from HR despite multiple contacts. The food was good though, with croissants and coffee on arrival and nice wraps/sandwiches for lunch, which almost made up for the expenses issue.
- What sources do you utilize to stay informed about industry advancements?
- What do you consider your greatest achievement?
- Can you suggest ways to enhance the sustainability of the KBR office?
