It was a quick and easy process. I first spoke with HR over the phone, and they set up an interview with the manager. Then I had a 20-minute video call with the manager as a sort of preview for the next interview round. The questions were straightforward, asking about me and my career aspirations.

I was really impressed when I interviewed here. The leadership team gave me time to ask a lot of questions and challenged my answers. Not that they thought I was wrong, but I think they liked hearing the logic behind my responses to their questions. I got to interview with a few different people here and all of them seemed to really like working there. There's a lot of opportunity in management, if that's what your going for, and they pretty much walk you through training.

I applied online and then got a call. After that, I had a full-day, in-person interview that included shadowing. The in-person part involved an interview, shadowing the team, and answering questions about the company's 'four pillars,' which I thought was strange. During the shadowing, I saw how employees persuade Duke Energy customers to switch to green energy by telling them their bills won't increase. The shadowing itself seemed like a good job because the staff were young and friendly, but online research revealed many unhappy customers who found their bills went up significantly. I got the job offer the same day as the interview and was asked to sign paperwork the next week, even though I wouldn't start for three months. I think this was because I mentioned waiting for other offers, which they seemed pushy about, leading me to decline the job.
