Quick, friendly, open. First call on the phone, then a technical chat with 2 team members, and finally a talk with 2 managers about motivation and personality. Fast response from HR. HR was also very friendly and ready to help where needed.

The interview process started with a chat with potential future colleagues. If it was a good fit, I then went through a series of tests. After that, there was a 4-hour screening and role-playing session with an external partner. However, these tests by the external partner felt like a formality because HR could override the results if they didn't like my profile. I felt the selection process wasn't open to different cultures, and being white and Belgian seemed to give a better chance, which was disappointing. Things were fine until I had an interview with an unmotivated interviewer from Solvus who wasn't paying attention and kept asking the same questions. I get that it's also a psychological test, but it felt absurd to have a conversation where the interviewer had so much control. After a week, I received a 3-page report that didn't accurately represent me. The interviewer also assumed I had a different mother tongue despite me speaking fluent Dutch, which felt like an unfounded reason to criticize me. Overall, I was very disappointed with KBC's selection procedure.
