They go through your resume and motivation letter in a lighthearted way. They then ask you to elaborate on everything. They also ask to a limited extent about your personal life (hobbies etc.). Furthermore, they explain KBC's philosophy.
- Why do you want to work for us and what makes you suitable?
Financial Analyst
The whole procedure was classic, but extensive (this was over 2 years ago, so take the below with a grain of salt). The first stage was a phone call. The second stage involved classic computer tests (possibly from home), including abstract, verbal, and numerical reasoning. The third stage was an in-person assessment day, which included retaking the phase 2 tests, a "postbakoefening" (in-basket exercise), a group exercise (everyone gets assigned a project to defend, but there's only budget for one program – the goal is to convince the others that your program should be chosen), aimed at assessing communication skills, and an individual exercise (given information about a company that's doing poorly, your task is to find potential solutions and be creative). I got a positive answer about the procedure, but ultimately no offer. Bizarre and frustrating.
- Your previous project has just been completed, and for your next assignment, you have the choice between two projects. Project 1 is an update of a project that has been performed in the past. Project 2 is something that is completely new. Which do you choose?
Financial Analyst
First, there were some online IQ tests including number sequences, abstract reasoning, and analogies. Then, we had an assessment day which had a 30min group case study where the focus was on getting a solution but also standing up for your own ideas, taking notes, and keeping an eye on the time. This was followed by more IQ tests, a 1-hour in-tray exercise, a lunch break, a 30-minute 1-on-1 HR interview, deliberation, and finally a 1-hour 1-on-1 case study where the instruction was to be creative and make assumptions outside the available data set to show creativity. After that, there was a line manager interview or maybe a couple of them.
- Handle the in-tray exercise.
