First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kanini.
Technical Project Manager
I went through four interviews, which included two final meetings with VPs. I was told I passed each stage. All interviews after the first one were in person at the office. After the last round, they told me the job was on hold and I haven't heard anything since, which is a bummer considering all the time we both put in.
- How would you handle team conflicts?
Software Engineer Trainee
So for the kanini mass freshers drive in chennai, the first round was aptitude and coding, you really needed like 80 percent to get to the next stage, the questions were kinda easy to moderate, most people get filtered out here. next up was a communication round, which involved listening, writing, and speaking skills, they tend to reject a lot of candidates in the speaking part. and the last round was a technical discussion, they mostly asked about my projects and just had a general chat to see if I'd be a good fit attitude-wise. we mostly talked about the job market for freshers and from my perspective it went pretty well, but I didn't get any calls back so I'm not really sure where I missed the mark. overall it was a pretty cool interview experience. the only real downside was that it started at 4pm and went on until 11pm, which was a bit tough to manage with my parents being concerned.
- Do you have basic syntax knowledge of all the programming languages listed in the job description, as the aptitude test had questions from a mix of languages, though they were quite easy?
- Are you prepared for questions that draw from a variety of programming languages, as seen in the aptitude section, which were generally straightforward?
- If you can solve LeetCode intermediate level questions, can you easily clear the interview?
Technical Architect
Recruitment agency called me and the interview was set up in 2 days. Round 1 was Technical, Online. Got good feedback, so Round 2 was scheduled, also Technical and Online. Again, got good feedback, and they asked me to visit the Pune office for Round 3, which was Managerial, conducted online from Pune. After this round, got good feedback and was asked to submit documents before scheduling the HR discussion. I submitted the documents and the HR discussion was scheduled as Round 4. During this HR discussion, they mentioned their budget is only around 10% more than my current salary, and they need to get approval for my expectations. After 7 to 8 days of following up with the third-party recruiter, she informed me that the role is on hold. However, I'm still getting recruitment emails daily for the same role, which suggests they might be doing the same with others. I found a couple of similar reviews online, indicating this is a common pattern for KANINI.
- What documentation is needed for new projects?
- Can you discuss scaling strategies?

Intern
The application process usually starts with you submitting your resume, cover letter, and maybe a portfolio online. After that, HR or a hiring manager screens resumes to see if candidates meet the basic requirements. If your resume looks good, you might get a phone screen (about 20-30 minutes) with someone from HR to talk about your background, experience, and salary expectations. Depending on the job, you might have to do some tests, like a coding test for tech roles or a writing sample for marketing. If you pass those, you'll probably have interviews with the hiring team. For technical roles, there might be technical interviews where you'll solve problems or do coding challenges. You'll also likely have behavioral interviews to assess your soft skills, where you'll share examples of how you've handled situations. Sometimes, you might have a panel interview with multiple interviewers at once. In the final stages, you could interview with senior management. They might also check your references. If you get a job offer, it'll have details on pay and benefits, and you can negotiate it. After accepting, you'll go through onboarding, which includes paperwork and training.
- Can you explain the fundamental concepts of Object-Oriented Programming?
