Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kaltura.
Customer Success Manager
The first chats with the recruiter and managers went well, and so did the third stage, which involved product training simulations and a customer retention discussion. They were in a hurry to hire and scheduled interviews quickly within a short period. After passing the third stage, they added another interview, and then went silent. I never got an official response, neither a yes nor a no, and had to chase the recruiter for an update. If you're looking for a professional hiring experience, avoid this company. It's not good to leave candidates hanging.
- Can you share an example of your biggest success and failure?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process was quite unprofessional overall. The interviewer seemed unprepared and didn't have my resume or any prior info on me. She even put me on hold mid-conversation to deal with an urgent work issue, and then informed me the role I applied for (a remote East Coast position) was already filled. She was actually looking to hire for a West Coast role instead. They didn't give me a chance to ask questions and instead mentioned they were seeking someone with sales experience, which wasn't in the job description. I felt really disrespected throughout this whole thing.
- What are your thoughts on work that involves travel?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process started well, with the screening and first round calls going smoothly. I was then given an assignment which involved a presentation. Although it was scheduled for 45 minutes, the amount of content required was substantial, easily making it a 2-hour presentation. I invested a lot of time in preparing and received positive feedback during the presentation itself. However, it's now been nearly three weeks with no communication. I've reached out multiple times for feedback, but I'm not receiving any responses. After seeing some negative interview experiences shared here for CSM roles, I feel my experience was quite similar. A simple "sorry but no" email would have been acceptable if they decided not to proceed. I'd advise against applying to this company because they seem to disregard candidates, even those who have reached the final stages.
- Describe your strategy for handling a situation where a senior stakeholder is upset due to a system outage, detailing the steps you'd take and your rationale.
