Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kaiser Permanente.
Director
The interview process was pretty quick, starting with a recruiter screening and then moving to two panel interviews. The questions were standard and directly related to the job requirements, which I appreciated. It was a positive experience meeting the team, and they seem genuinely invested in new hires' success.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to work with an individual who resisted change?
- Tell me about your experience managing healthcare professionals who are reluctant to adhere to required procedures.
Director
The whole process dragged on for months and included phone calls and panel interviews. The recruiter was radio silent for long stretches. Just when I thought they'd ghosted me, the recruiter would pop up saying they really liked me but were swamped with business stuff. They kept making me feel like I was their top choice and an offer was just around the corner. In the end, I put in a ton of work, but it felt like they already knew who they wanted and just needed to complete the candidate pool for legal reasons. I met every single requirement and preferred qualification for the role, with years of experience to back it up, yet I got zero feedback on why I didn't get the job when I asked.
- What makes you want this job?
Director
The corporate interview felt like a waste of time with irrelevant questions for the role. The panel seemed arrogant, showed up over half an hour late, and cut the interview short because of their lateness, completely disregarding my time. Each panel member asked questions specific to their own department's roles instead of focusing on the role I applied for, and one person didn't ask any questions at all. They did give a general overview of the company, but I already knew all of that from my own research.
- Tell me about your current company.
- What is your current company doing in terms of insurance?
- What do you think about our company's background?
