Behavioral

I applied online and had a first round interview with a recruiter. We talked for about 30 minutes, and they asked some behavioral questions and described the job. The recruiter was friendly, and the interview felt conversational, which I liked. However, I'm giving this a negative experience because the recruiter said they'd get back to me in 5 days and understood how tough job searching can be. After 5 days, I emailed for an update, and it's now been over a week with no response. While I usually don't mind timing, it was disappointing when the recruiter, who related to my ghosting experiences, promised a 5-day response and then didn't deliver after I followed up. It's not a huge deal, but I think recruiters should set more realistic expectations and be clearer in their communication. The recruiter was nice and it was a good interview, but I feel slighted and wanted to share.

The interview process started with a Microsoft Teams meeting with two employees, which felt like a good level of formality. It was more of a conversation than a typical interview. The next part was a group exercise with two other candidates and two different employees, where we had to do a straightforward task to assess teamwork and communication skills. I felt good about the applicant day, but the weeks after changed my mind. I got an email saying decisions would be made in the coming weeks and I'd hear by a certain date. I waited, and nothing happened. A few days later, another email said the process was taking longer but they'd get back to me the following week. That didn't happen either. I had to call an employee I'd been talking to, who said I did well and would hear soon. Still nothing. Weeks later, I called again about another job offer I had. They said they'd try to find out for me soon because of the other offer's timing. Again, no response. That was the last I heard from Kainos. When I asked for an update, even if unsuccessful, they wouldn't reply. The lack of communication is incredible, and my recent attempts to contact them were ignored. I thought they were people-focused, but my experience was the opposite. It seems Kainos has issues with growth, and my post-interview experience was terrible.
