Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at K1 Investment Management.
Analyst
The interview process was horrible, I don’t recommend it. They asked personal questions, were very rude. I don’t want to be part of such a company. I am happier at a different job that pays me way more!
- Could you tell me about your parents' jobs?
- What is your motivation for pursuing Private Equity?
- How would you describe your relationship with your family?
Summer Analyst
We started with a skills assessment. Then there was a first round with a VP and an analyst, followed by a second round with an MD and an analyst. They were all behavioral, trying to understand your interest in PE. The only technical thing they might ask about is why enterprise software is a good investment.
- What's the biggest mistake you've ever made?
- Could you tell me about a K1 deal you find interesting?
- Why do you think enterprise software is a good investment?
Summer Analyst
It was a basic phone screen with an associate, and then a subsequent interview. I only completed the 15-minute phone screen via MS Teams. They didn't ask many technical questions, focusing more on getting to know the interviewer and asking basic financial questions. It's important to be aware of their previous deals.
- Can you list the three main financial statements?
- Could you describe the three financial statements?
- What are the three fundamental financial statements?
