First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JV Commerce.
Account Executive
It included 2 interviews. The first one was to get to know me and my goals, and she told me about the company. Later that day I was invited for a 2nd interview which was more of an observation day with a short interview at the end of the day, mostly dealing with what I learned throughout the day and what I thought of it. They don't tell you in the beginning that this is all commission based, $10 per phone you sell. You have to hustle in not-so-nice neighborhoods. The manager is really nice and so are all the account executives that you go out with on observation day, but this job is not for everyone, certainly not me.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What are your career goals?
- What were your key takeaways from today's observation?
Marketing Event Coordinator
I applied online, then got an email requesting an interview. I had the interview where we talked about starting the next week, salary, bonuses, and operational stuff. At the end, they asked me to come in for an orientation. Then it got weird. I got a generic email saying I was no longer being considered. I get that maybe they found a better fit, but I wanted to be sure it wasn't a mistake on my part. So, I replied asking if I was NOT supposed to come back for orientation. No response. I called and was told the person had no clue but would ask someone and call/email back. Then... nothing. Complete silence. It's not even about the job itself, it's just how it was handled that's frustrating.
- What are the key areas where focus and activation should be directed?
Customer Service Associate
After an initial brief interview, I was called back for a second round. This time, I was unexpectedly taken out of the office with another employee to experience the job firsthand. I wasn't informed beforehand that we'd be leaving the office, and only found out we were going to Irvington, NJ for street marketing when we were at the Metro station. The associate then asked if I had money for the train. This setup immediately raised red flags, and I told her I wasn't interested and left right away, deciding this wouldn't be a good company to work for.
- Can you tell me about the positive and negative aspects of your past work experience?
Recruiter
The interview process was straightforward and enjoyable. Upon arriving at the office, the management team had created a very welcoming environment. The space was lively and energetic, with everyone actively engaged in their work. Observing this as I entered for the interview made me eager to start. The interview was very informative, and I quickly understood my potential responsibilities. This company is on a great trajectory, and I'm pleased to be a part of it.
- What is the most challenging aspect of managing a team?
