Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Just Eat Takeaway.com.
UX Researcher
I went through the recruiter screen, then had a 30-minute competency interview with the hiring manager. The final stage involved a case study presentation. They seemed unimpressed with my chosen example during the interview. The feedback stated they passed on me because they sought someone with more robust pre-concept/early-concept experience. I actually have significant experience in this domain, but the case-study brief didn't specify this, and neither the recruiter nor the hiring manager emphasized it as a priority. They also didn't probe on pre-concept questions during my presentation. Weeks later, I received an unprofessional, templated rejection email from the recruiter, which inadvertently included a note from the manager instructing them to 'next time screen for pre-concept experience correctly,' which read poorly. The entire experience felt unorganized and left a negative impression of the company.

UX Researcher
Had an initial chat with the recruiter or talent team member. They got back to me within a week of applying, so things moved pretty fast. I didn't make it to the next round though (apparently not enough line-management experience, even though I do have some). The whole process was alright, but feedback was a bit limited and I didn't get a chance to respond to it.
- What do you expect regarding the role and its responsibilities?
- What are your salary expectations?
- Can you tell me more about your CV?
UX Designer
The interview process was really positive and they were super understanding of different learning needs and great at giving feedback. There were multiple rounds, but I always felt informed about what would happen next. The recruitment team was very friendly and everyone seemed passionate about their work.
