Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Just Eat Takeaway.com.
Marketing Manager
The first step was a screening with HR, they talked about the role and main tasks, the team structure, and how we work. They also asked some general questions about my background, examples of projects and situations I've handled, or they did a deep dive on specific tools or projects.
- Tell me about your past experiences and roles.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Give me some examples of projects you've worked on.
Marketing Lead
So the interview process started with an HR interview, then I had a 1-hour interview with the hiring manager. After that, there was a case study to prepare and present, and another team member joined that presentation. Then I had two more interviews with heads of different functions in the department. Finally, there was a concluding interview with the Director.
- Can you share an instance of failure and the lessons you took away?
- Describe your approach to managing conflicts.
- How do you go about persuading teams to give you resources?
Marketing Graduate
I did some online questions first, basically just 'Why JUST-EAT?', 'Why you?', and the usual stuff. Then a few weeks later, I had a phone interview which was pretty much the same questions. After that went well, I got invited to an assessment day. There were about 16 of us for the single graduate marketing role, though they hinted they might hire two if they found enough good people. The day had group exercises, presentations, regular interviews, and competency-based interviews. The staff were nice though.
- Can you share an instance where you bent the rules, including the circumstances, your reasons, and the result?
