Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jump Trading.
Intern
I had an initial meet up call with 2 engineers, I thought it went well but then got ghosted. They asked my general questions about my resume and experience. They were quite friendly and curious about my experience. After that I never received any feedback.
- What motivated you to apply to this company?
Intern
The interview process involved tackling questions on linear algebra, combinatorics, and programming. This was followed by a less formal chat with the recruiter. The technical part had two interviewers who presented a list of questions for me to solve while they watched. They weren't particularly welcoming.
- Can you explain the Spectral Theorem?
- How would you approach path counting?
- What are your thoughts on data structures?
Intern
It started with a brief self-introduction, followed by a quick review of my resume focusing on my past Quant Research experience. Then, I was asked about back-testing, since I had mentioned relevant experience. The interview also included several technical questions covering probability and coding, which were a bit challenging but I received guidance.
- Can you write a program to swap the kth and 2kth nodes in a singly linked list?
