First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Jump Associates.
Strategist
It was straightforward. The people I met were really nice and made me feel comfortable. I didn't get past the second interview, and when I reapplied for a junior version of the role, I wasn't considered.
- A case study on the hotel industry was presented.
Innovation Strategist
After applying online with a resume, writing sample, and work sample, I was sent an email from the recruiter asking to complete a behavioral survey (Predictive Index). One week later, the recruiter emails with a generic response that says "our current needs require a different skill set." It's disappointing they would come to this conclusion without ever once having a phone conversation with me. You can't help but feel this was completely based on the results of the behavioral survey which while I can see useful, hardly tells the story.
- Will you complete the Predictive Index? There are no right or wrong answers.
Associate
First, there's a phone interview to check if you get the industry. Make sure you know what design thinking is and isn't. Be ready to explain why you're a Growth Strategist with design thinking skills, not just a general management consultant or product designer. Next, you'll get a take-home assignment. Try to do it as if you were them, and then share your process and how it applies to Jump. Lastly, there's an in-person case study. Go in there with energy and don't be too careful or ask too many questions. They want to see that you're okay with not having all the answers.
- Could you outline your approach to research and mention frameworks that yield useful insights?
- What insights can frameworks provide?
- What motivates your interest in joining our company?
Project Specialist
The interview process involved an in-person interview in the first round, which included a surprise case study. This was followed by a take-home case study in the second round. The first round case focused on assessing my ability to think innovatively with limited information using frameworks. The take-home case was unclear, and I received no feedback on my submitted work, which was frustrating given the excessive time I invested (over 20 hours, exceeding the suggested 5).
- Tell me about your career journey.
- What motivates you to apply to Jump?
- What are your core passions?
