First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JPI (Java Production, Inc.).
Senior Consultant
Applied on Linkedin and recruiter contacted me right away. Had a phone call with them, then a call with the hiring manager who was interested in my resume. The calls were good, they asked about my past experiences and if I was clearable. I followed up with him on LinkedIn and thanked him for the call. He said I'd hear back about next steps. But no response even after a second follow-up. I don't mind if they chose someone else or for whatever reason. I think I deserve at least a courtesy email or a reply to my LinkedIn message since I took the time to apply and talk to two people.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Project Analyst
I started with a recruiter phone call, which went well. Then, I had a technical phone screen. After that, I came in for an in-person interview. I was expecting to interview with two people, but ended up talking to five people across two panel interviews. They initially said I was interviewing for one role, but after reviewing my resume closely, they tried to recruit me for a different position I wasn't interested in. We discussed salary, and they gave a number they initially couldn't meet, then a revised number I accepted. However, the final offer had an even lower salary, which I declined. The recruiter said she'd talk to management about it, but I never heard back.
- Could you elaborate on particular achievements you've detailed on your resume?
Project Manager
I had an initial phone chat that was set up really fast. We just went over my resume and talked a bit about the job and what they needed. The next week, they had me come in for an in-person panel interview with different people from the company. Everyone on the panel had their own way of interviewing and asked me questions about different situations and also general questions about the company culture. The people were great and really seemed to care about the mission. In the end, it didn't work out because I didn't have the specific technical background they were looking for.
- How would you respond to customer questions when you don't know the answer immediately?

I applied online through LinkedIn. About two weeks later, I had an initial phone screening with a recruiter. They just wanted to check my resume details and make sure I understood the job description. The next week, I had a phone interview for over 30 minutes with a Senior Consultant. It had a bunch of behavioral questions. The following week, I had an in-person interview with two Senior Consultants, one of whom was the same person from the phone interview. The week after that, I was back and forth with HR about benefits. Then, on Friday of that week, I had a final phone interview with a Director and a Manager. We talked about the feedback they got from my previous interviews and any questions I had. That's also when we talked about salary. I got an offer that same evening.
- What would you do if you found out something that the client doesn't know, which could harm them, but isn't necessarily harmful to our company?
