Tutor
This interview was peculiar. I interviewed in November. The interview went very well. Once per week for four weeks, I sent in emails to follow up on that interview. I called after four weeks to get feedback on the interview, assuming I did not get the position. Turns out, the person I interviewed with first is no longer employed there. Had I not reached out, I probably would have fallen under the radar.
- Can you share an example of a time when...? (behavioral)
- Could you tell me about your experience?
Tutor
It was about a 2 hour interview. The first part was a regular interview with the San Antonio branches owner. Basically, any standard interview questions list will cover it. The second part involved you acting as if your interviewer was a student and you tutoring them through some questions. These questions were about the subjects you said you're comfortable tutoring.
- Describe how you've handled a student who was reluctant to complete their assignments.
- Could you share what extracurricular activities you're involved in or have been involved in?
- What are your personal hobbies?
Tutor
First, there was a phone interview with some basic questions about my resume. Then, I had a one-on-one interview where the questions were more about my personality and behavior. My boss asked me about how I'd handle specific situations and my past experiences, and I answered them.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- What are your plans for the next five years?
