I had a phone screen and then an in-person meeting with the owner at Panera. The center isn't fully set up yet. It was a pretty straightforward process, with a background check and CPR training provided. They asked me about my experience babysitting kids, and we talked about the hours I'm looking to work. A background check was done. The family I'd be sitting for also required a drug test, which they mentioned isn't standard unless the family specifically asks for it (which was fine with me!). I also found it interesting to hear about the company's history and how it got started.

Before submitting my resume, I had to complete a word association exercise where I selected words that described me and then words that described qualities I needed in my last job. After that, I uploaded my resume. I was contacted via email to schedule a preliminary phone interview that was supposed to be 30 minutes but only took 20. The interviewer left plenty of time for my questions and answered them thoroughly. She mentioned she'd be in touch by the end of the following week with next steps, but I never heard back.

I applied on Indeed and got an email to set up an interview. I clicked the link and chose a time that worked for me. Then, I got a Google Meet link for the scheduled time. I joined the meeting on time and the interviewer joined a little after me. I liked the interview process. They asked me about my availability, transportation, and past experience with different age groups. They also asked scenario questions about caring for a 6-month-old. We discussed areas and times I could travel to. After about 20 minutes, I got a conditional job offer and started the onboarding.
