The company was opening two new stores and there was a juggling of staff. I interviewed with the regional sales manager and store manager (both have since left). They offered me a keyholder position at a different store. I was told that my salary requirement of $40,000 "shouldn't be a problem." However, I later realized that this didn't account for "free" items sold, which affected commission. My commission dropped after three months because I wasn't meeting goals. The company uses deception; sales targets sometimes changed three times a week, confusing customers and employees. Stores were treated like warehouses, making employees into shipping clerks. Internet returns were allowed in stores, negatively impacting the store's bottom line and making it harder to achieve high sales goals.

i was offered the job based on my present and past experiences,i was offer considerable more than am making at present, the company took several dollars away from all assistant managers without our approval, due to the poor economy, i felt i could make money and i pride myself on low job turnover, i have a briefcase of customer compliments that the co has forwarded to me, i have troubleshooted in three locations and still, they do not feel able to promote me even though i was an area manager of five disney stores in dallas.

So, the whole interview thing was super long. First I talked to the head of HR. Then I had to meet with all four managers in the department, and finally, I met the director of the department. It took up basically the whole afternoon. They really wanted to know my reasons for wanting to work in retail.
