Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Johnson Matthey.
Graduate Role
It was a video interview with about 7 questions total. Some questions involved typing under time pressure, so be ready for that. Each question usually had a 2-minute time limit, but the very last one was only 1 minute, so make sure you don't run out of time.
- Can you describe a challenging relationship you experienced and how you handled it?
Graduate Program
The screening process was rigorous and helpful. They gave us time to answer questions and calmly guided us through the interview. The interviewers were very helpful and kind, understanding how daunting the process can be.
- How have your experiences shaped you?
- What would you do in this scenario?
Graduate Program
I went through an automated interview first, then an onsite interview which was really enjoyable. The onsite included a presentation, a technical interview, a behavioral interview, and a group exercise. The final stage was a Skype call with a senior staff member.
- Give a presentation about a topic we assigned.
- Standard technical questions.
- Standard behavioral questions.
