First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Johnson Matthey.
Project Engineer
We took a tour of the plant, including the lab and the production floor. After the tour, I met with the engineering team lead and the maintenance team lead. Just a heads up, they have really strict rules about PPE and security on site.
- Can you tell me about a challenging situation you faced in your last job and how you dealt with it?
Engineer
Had a really good chat about the engineering role. We talked about a lot of things — like technical skills, how I solve problems, working on a team, and always getting better. The interviewer seemed to really care about my background and how I handle tough situations. The job sounds like it's got a lot going on and is interesting, with chances to help on different projects and work with other groups. They mentioned that being innovative, safe, and delivering good results is key, which is totally my thing and fits with what I've done. It felt like a helpful, professional talk with a good vibe. The company seems like they're thinking ahead, are supportive, and are focused on doing well long-term.
- Tell me about your process for solving complex problems, including how you involve others to get the job done.
Trainee Engineer
Direct interview, the process was totally easy. All over the process was good, but it takes time to know the results which is little irritating for candidates.
- Tell me about your final year project and some basics of chemical engineering.
