Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
Intern
I had an interview with two people. They asked about my CV and the projects listed on it. The questions weren't super technical. They also asked how I keep my skills sharp. After that, they gave me time to ask questions. It wasn't too difficult.
- What skills did you acquire from your projects?
- Can you tell us about your CV and the projects mentioned?
- How do you keep improving your skills?
Intern
A simple personality interview was conducted. They asked direct questions about teamwork and things mentioned on my resume. No technical questions were asked. I was also introduced to how the team operates.
- Can you share one of your weaknesses?
Intern
Applied online and heard back about a month later. Had a quick 30 min chat that involved going over my resume and then some questions from the team. I actually applied to a bunch of jobs here and had multiple interviews. One of them included a technical question about reversing a singly linked list.
- Can you tell me about a challenging problem you encountered and how you dealt with it?
