Technical Coding System Design

They didn't stick to one thing in the technical round. First, they looked at my resume and talked about my projects. Then, because I had projects in those areas, they asked me about Ensemble Learning, Random Forest, and NLP. After that, they gave me standard data structure and algorithm problems. One was to find a subarray that sums to a target, and the other was the maximum subarray sum. They wanted me to make both of them faster and use less memory. I managed to solve and improve both. They also asked an easy SQL question about getting the top three salaries. They then asked me to do the same thing with pandas, which was a bit tough for me. They followed up by asking me about common pandas functions, and I named a few. Lastly, they asked me how Random Forest works in theory and in practice, and how to build a recommendation system, which I had done during my internship.

The interviewer was welcoming and created a relaxed atmosphere, allowing for a natural conversation rather than a rigid Q&A session. Expectations were communicated transparently, eliminating any guesswork. The discussion flowed effortlessly, and I never felt rushed or pressured. Overall, it was a stress-free and positive experience that left me with a great impression of the process and the team. I appreciated the professionalism and warmth throughout, making it one of the more pleasant interviews I’ve had

Technical Presentation

Recruiter reached out to a contact of mine who is a VP of Sales in another market. The Director of Sales for my region contacted my former colleague for a reference. I was told one of the final steps was a plant tour, which was 3+ hours away. I agreed to meet on Friday at 10am. On my way, they asked if I could push the meeting back a few hours. I completed the plant tour and spoke with the plant manager. Both went well, and I was told I'd hear back on Monday. I didn't hear anything, so I emailed the recruiter on Tuesday night. He said he was going to speak with the hiring manager and would call me back after. That never happened, and I received a text on Friday saying they went in another direction. I received no feedback, just a cowardly, unprofessional text after investing so much time in their open position. I also had to complete a 2-hour assessment before the first interview. If this is how they treat potential hires, I can only imagine how they treat current employees. I would advise staying away.

Coding Technical Behavioral

So, the interview had four parts. First, a coding challenge. Then, two tech HR interviews, and finally, a personal HR interview. The coding part was about problem-solving, data structures, and algorithms. The first tech HR chat was about core tech stuff, projects, and how you solve problems. The second tech HR chat went into more advanced topics, system design, and how to apply things. The last interview was more personal, checking your communication, if you'd fit in, and your career goals. It was kinda average difficulty, with a good mix of tech and behavioral stuff.
