Applied in early November, got a call in early December to confirm my application was received. I then went in for an interview the same week and was hired after a casual chat with two managers. The hiring process also included about a week for paperwork and a background check, followed by computer training.

I applied online and got a call a few days later for an interview. I wasn't sure what position it was for since I had applied for a permanent role before. The manager spoke fast and I missed her name, but she gave me two time slots. I missed her call and had to call back, but I didn't know who to ask for. Finally figured it out, but she wasn't there. Another manager took a message. On the interview day, I was late because I had a bad stomach ache from nerves. I thought it was okay since it was a time range, but I was supposed to be there before the start. My mom and sister said their interviews were super easy, so I was surprised by how long this one was. I think I did okay, but some questions were hard because I don't have much work experience. The manager said she had to review my answers with a higher-up and if she liked me, I'd have another interview, which seemed excessive for a seasonal job. She didn't say when I'd hear back, so I don't know if I'm still waiting or not getting hired. I was also asked why Jo Ann's and why not my previous holiday job.

I applied online and got a super quick callback, like within two hours on a Friday. They wanted me to interview either that day or the next, but I asked for a bit more time and they were cool with scheduling it for Monday afternoon. I was a little nervous but felt good about this place because I really like the store. I got there early and an employee let the interviewer know I was there. We went to the back where they do training, and she said it was more of a chat to see where I'd fit best. She seemed to think I already had the job, telling me about potential duties, where they needed people, the discount, holidays, and the cool dress code. She liked that I was available, eager to learn about fabrics, and knew how to sew. The main things she asked were why I liked Jo-Ann's and if I had retail experience. The whole thing was maybe 15-20 minutes. At the end, she explained that I'd get an email to accept or decline the offer, and she really pushed for me to accept. I accepted about an hour later. The next day was the background check, and about two days after that, I started the on-boarding process with forms for orientation and my first day.
