Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JLT Group.
Manager
It was a very pleasant interview, the interviewers were really nice and they explained the role in detail. They also shared their experiences and how systems and transactions flow in the company.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Senior Manager
The process started with a call from the recruiter for initial calibration. The recruiter asked questions about my current job, why I was looking for a new role, and explained the job description and what the company was looking for. After the recruiter shared details with the organization, there was an initial screening focused on my expectations for the role and setting expectations. This was followed by multiple rounds of interviews with the hiring manager, and then an interview with HR.
- Tell me about the different roles you have performed.
- What have been your most significant achievements?
- What challenges have you encountered in your career?
Design Manager
I started with an HR screen, then a phone interview about my background, work style, and design understanding. After that, I was given case studies (infographic, report, presentation) to design using JLT standards, which I completed. Then I had an in-person interview with my potential manager, which was tough, asking about past situations and how I handled them. Following that was an in-person interview with the director, with similar questions. Everything seemed to go well, as my reporting manager was very excited and even gave me an office tour. I was told they'd be in touch. The HR followed up weekly for two months, citing internal delays. Then emails stopped. When I inquired, I got no response. It's disappointing after building expectations, especially for a senior role at a big organization like JLT, I would expect better communication. The experience was good overall but soured by the two-month silence.
- Can you share an instance where you resolved a client's query or conflict? Detail the steps you took from start to finish.
- Describe a time you had to manage two tasks simultaneously. How did you handle it, and what was the result?
- Which project or situation best showcases your analytical skills? What was your part in it?
