First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JLR.
Intern
First there was a technical test, then one interview round. This round was mostly about my resume, then some general questions about myself, and some technical questions from core subjects for about 20 to 30 minutes.
- Could you explain the vapour compression cycle?
- How does a 4-stroke engine work?
Intern
First, you'll submit your application materials like your resume and cover letter. Recruiters will check these for relevant experience and skills. Then, there's an initial HR chat (30–45 mins) about your background, why you want this role, and if you know about Criteo. They'll also see if you're a good cultural fit and tell you about the internship. After that, you might have a technical or skills test, depending on the role. This could be coding, a case study, or data tasks for tech jobs, or a business case/presentation for non-tech roles. Next up are one or two panel or technical interviews with potential teammates or managers. They'll ask behavioral questions like 'Tell me about a time you solved a complex problem,' or do technical stuff like coding challenges for tech roles. For non-tech roles, you might tackle role-specific scenarios like analyzing marketing metrics. Finally, there's a manager interview focusing on problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, plus discussing expectations and goals. If all goes well, you get an offer with details on pay and responsibilities. Sometimes they give feedback, even if you don't get the offer.
- Tell me about a complex problem you solved.
- Describe a technical challenge you faced and how you approached it.
- How would you analyze campaign metrics for a marketing role?
Placement
The interview process was a regular assessment centre. It involved 1-on-1 interviews in the morning, followed by group discussion activities, and judgement and logical tests. The whole thing lasted about 4-6 hours and they paid for all travel expenses. I met several different interviewers throughout the day. The overall environment was very relaxed.
- Can you share an instance where you advised a teammate to change their approach?
