Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JLR.
Engineer
It was a 3 phase interview process, first two were online and the last one was in person. They asked a mix of personal attribute and technical questions. I met different people each time. The in person part was very professional and involved meeting lots of other candidates.
- Could you rank the qualities that are most important for an engineer, and explain why you chose that ranking?
- Discuss the importance of soft skills and how they can be structured like a pyramid.
Engineer
The interview process was clearly laid out from the start. They had a long in-person interview, about 2 hours. The first part was a technical interview with a future colleague and manager, where I had to answer several questions using the STAR method. After that, I completed a standard JLR soft skills test and then spoke with HR.
- In what ways do you demonstrate respect towards customers and coworkers?
Lead Engineer
Got a call from HR three months after applying about a specific time slot for the interview, and they mentioned it was the only option. I was given a technical presentation and asked some behavioral questions. It felt like they already had a candidate chosen, and the interview was just a formality, or maybe the panel didn't quite grasp my presentation.
- What makes you interested in a role at Jaguar?
