It was pretty easy, they just hired me from within the company. They usually prefer to hire people who have worked for them before. Sometimes they do hire externally, but usually people with experience.

I reached out to the owner of this franchise while working for another franchise of the same company. She mentioned she needed an assistant manager for her new store and was pleased I'd contacted her. After discussing with my current owner, I got the approval to start the interview process. About a week later, I met with her and her husband, the other owner. They explained the demands of the role (long hours, fast-paced environment, new store), and I confirmed I was prepared for it. A week after that, I had a meeting with the owners and an investor. They posed questions about how I would manage specific situations as a manager. They were pleased with my responses and extended a job offer the following day. Upon accepting, they informed me I would be sent to Jimmy John's Training School soon. After completing the three-week course in Champaign, IL, I worked out of their home until the store's opening. The rest is history.
