Jibe Software Engineer Interview Questions
& Process

The interview was conducted through my college placement drive. The first round was a coding and aptitude assessment with all easy-level questions. The second round was a technical interview featuring easy-level OOP and SQL questions.

I was contacted after meeting some folks from the company at a career fair. They covered my travel and everyone seemed nice. When I got there, I wasn't really impressed. I was on time, but nobody greeted me and I was left waiting in a room. Random employees, who didn't even know I was coming, kept popping in to chat about typical startup stuff like video games, innovation, blogs, and ego-boosting. There was a short technical interview too. Then, they just told me I could go, with no follow-up info or response deadline. Naturally, I never heard back after my follow-ups and thank you notes. It was a really weird experience overall. You feel like royalty during the automated part, then clueless employees babysit you during the interviews, and then you're totally ignored. A colleague had a similar weird experience. We both thought it was cool they were willing to pay for the interview, but the whole thing was just bizarre. I can't figure out if they were just trying to hit a quota, doing some odd research, or if they're just that unprofessional. Honestly, it fits with them partnering with Walmart to create software that sounds like it's designed to exploit new hires. Basically, don't fall for their fancy recruitment. If this interview is any sign of their professionalism and integrity, they'll probably use and abuse you if you get hired.

The hiring process at Jibe was pretty standard. First, I chatted with HR/Management about the job. If that went well, I had a phone screen with an engineering manager where they asked technical questions. After that, there was a coding test. If I passed that, I had a few-hour in-person interview with various team members. The whole thing was fast and everyone was really nice.
