Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at JGC.
Process Engineer
I applied online, then had an interview at BCF. After that, I was invited for an onsite interview which lasted two days. The first day was spent meeting the staff I would be working with, and the second day involved meeting with a board member. There were six people in total, and the interviews were held at the top of their building in Yokohama. It was a really nice experience.
- What are your future plans?
Process Engineer
Interview took place at JGC Singapore in International Business Park. The interviewers were the Head of the department and a Senior Process Engineer. The questions were primarily about career goals, objectives, and explaining the design project currently underway at school. The Head of Department is very experienced, having worked at the company for a long time; he was friendly and approachable, making the overall interview feel good and easy. A second round interview will occur in 2-3 weeks, serving as a confirmation for the offer and to go over the benefits and offer details.

It's a straightforward process like any other oil company: a test with a bunch of pages, but with questions that are sometimes simple, sometimes more complex, covering the basics of process engineering and refinery engineering.
