The hiring process was straightforward, going from HR to the hiring manager. They asked standard and technical questions, nothing too unusual. It was an average experience. Just be yourself and honest in your answers.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

First, there was a 30-minute phone interview where we talked about me and my interests and the job. Then, they sent some warm-up questions via email like 'most generous thing an employer has done for you', 'name you'd give a boat', and 'your biggest mentor'. After that, I had an interview with the staffing coordinator. This was followed by a 'homework' assignment via email where they sent a list of questions asking for my ideas without pay. The questions focused on IT and Accounting/Finance in Central PA, asking about competitors, abundant positions, how to find candidates, and if I knew anyone in the field and their experience with recruiters. It also asked why I'd be an asset. Finally, I interviewed with the head of the staffing agency. They asked about my recruiting tactics and had me demonstrate how phone calls would go, emphasizing that the goal is to recruit people who already have jobs and convince them to join companies JFC is staffing. After all this, they said to follow up in a week if I was still interested. I did, but never heard back, which felt like a setup to steal my ideas, especially since they said I had the right qualifications and did great in the interviews.

I applied for a direct hire role with JFC and they called me for a phone interview. The recruiter told me the job was already filled though it was only a week old and still listed. She wouldn't consider me for any jobs unless I did an in-person interview with her. I insisted on having my resume submitted for open positions first. She tried to get me to come in and gave me incorrect address information. When I asked about jobs, she was unhelpful and didn't seem to understand my experience as an accountant. I called back a few weeks later and she mentioned 'available' positions she was considering me for, but these were no longer listed on their site. Again, she insisted on an in-person interview and mentioned 'developing a relationship first,' which felt inappropriate. I wouldn't recommend this agency; they seem to only have filled or non-existent jobs and waste your time. Robert Half, on the other hand, got me 3 interviews without needing to meet.

So this is a recruiting agency, so you'll have to interview with them first, then the company. They won't tell you the company name until you're approved. Once you are, they'll give you the company name and some questions that the company might ask so you can prepare. If you don't get the job, but you stay in touch with them, they'll try to find you another job.
