Project Manager
So the interview was pretty involved. Started with a recruiter call, then I spoke with the hiring manager for the implementation team. After that, it was a panel interview with two other PMs and then another panel with the manager for the role. It was good to talk to the team, but the second panel felt a bit disorganized. The PMs seemed to not know what they wanted to ask and were texting each other, which was weird. Also, when I asked questions at the end, they kind of brushed them off. I think they should train the peer interviewers better on asking good questions and making sure the interview feels respectful. It'd be good if they were ready to talk about common project risks and how the company handles them.
- Tell me about how you create a risk management plan.
Project Manager
It was a pretty standard Project Manager interview. They didn't waste time or go back and forth too much between HR, the management team and me. First, there was an HR screening that lasted about 30 minutes. Then, a panel interview with three managers, which was about 90 minutes long. Finally, HR extended an offer.
- Can you share your experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)?
Project Manager
You start by applying online. If your application is successful, you'll be contacted by email or phone to schedule an interview. The interview itself will involve 104 interviewers, and you can expect to hear back about an offer or denial within 1-3 weeks. If you don't get the position, keep applying, as many interns have gone through 2-3 interviews before securing a role.
- Tell me about a time you realized you wouldn't meet a deadline and how you managed it.
- Describe a situation where you disliked a coworker or supervisor and how you dealt with it.
